Mount Anthony has erupted again~~

Jodi Arias’ trial has been delayed for the seventh time. Jury selection is not due until Dec 10th and just when we will all be getting in the Christmas mood. Oh well, maybe Jodi will do her rendition of “Silent Night’ for the jurors.

José Baez’ book did not make the best seller’s list but that hasn’t stopped him from easing his way into the limelight as you will see below.

Investigator in Trayvon Martin Case Turns to Jose Baez for Defense

And now Tony Pipitone has uncovered some information that will point the finger at Casey Anthony.

Casey Anthony: WKMG uncovers ‘evidence that points right at Casey’

A highly promoted local television report set to air this evening will center on Internet searches that authorities didn’t know about during the high-profile trial of Casey Anthony, according to the lead prosecutor in the case.

Prosecutor Linda Drane Burdick confirmed in an email to the Orlando Sentinel that someone used the Anthony family computer to search for “foolproof suffocation” on June 16, 2008, the day Casey Anthony’s father said she left the family’s home with Caylee for the last time.

In the notorious 31 days which followed, Anthony’s parents repeatedly sought to see their granddaughter — and, authorities say, Casey Anthony repeatedly lied about her whereabouts.

Though computer searches were a key issue at Anthony’s murder trial, the “foolproof suffocation” term never came up. Anthony’s criminal defense attorney, Jose Baez, later wrote about the search in his book, “Presumed Guilty, Casey Anthony: The Inside Story.”

Burdick wrote that the Orange County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed “there was a computer search on ‘foolproof suffocation’ on 6-16-08that they did not find.” Burdick stressed that this information “is not ‘new,'” as it was already published in Baez’s book months ago.

  1. Vicky says:

Unfortunately, CA will never serve another day in jail for this crime. I tend to agree with Cali. The prosecution “over tried” this case and opened the door for reasonable doubt. They forgot the KISS rule.
I don’t have much more to add and I doubt this new information would have made a difference. If the jury couldn’t infer intentional suffocation from the duck tape, I doubt the search would have been proof enough either. They wanted to believe the accidental drowning story and wanted to view Casey as a victim. That was much easier to come to terms with than having to believe a mother would intentionally murder her child and unceremoniously dump her body in a swamp. They wanted to find reasonable doubt and JB was more than happy to oblige them.

  2. I believe Baez informed Pipitone about this info and even wrote about it in his book so I am leery that this is just a lot of hype.

  3. I googled “foolproof suffocation” and came up with this…

“It was something Jose Baez was willing to defend but he didn’t get the chance because the prosecution never brought it up, we know why now – they didn’t even know about it,” revealed Pipitone.

“If they had, Baez now says he was prepared to show it was her father, George, not Casey doing the search we’re going to reveal.”

  4. I can only hear Bill Sheaffer in this RAW video… Bill discusses this new “foolproof suffocation” search. It sounds like Bill is rehearsing…

  5. Vicky says:

Sounds to me like a way for JB to promote his book. He’s probably hoping people will now buy it hoping to find out what else wasn’t broughtnup at trial and hownGeorge would have been blames. lOL
Definitely not a bombshell, and would not have changed the outcomemof the case. IMHO

  6. Vicky says:

Let me clarify, I doubt it would have changed the outcome with this particular jury. They wanted proof of the cause of death. There was no way to establish that based upon their unreasonable expectations. IMO, even with this new piece of evidence, the twelve village idiots on that jury would have considered the drowning story reasonable doubt or would have claimed there was no proof Casey made the search. IMO, it was the that particular jury that made the case unwinable by the prosecution.

  7. Between Baez and Casey’s crocodile tears they both convinced the jurors that George molested Casey and probably Caylee too. There was no changing their minds. The state was too over confident.

  8. At 2:49 p.m., after George Anthony said he had left for work and while Casey Anthony’s cellphone is pinging a tower nearest the home, the Anthony family’s desktop computer is activated by someone using a password-protected account Casey Anthony used;
    At 2:51 p.m., on a browser primarily Casey Anthony used, a Google search for the term “fool-proof suffocation,” misspelling the last word as “suffication”;
    Five seconds later, the user clicks on an article that criticizes pro-suicide websites that include advice on “foolproof” ways to die. “Poison yourself and then follow it up with suffocation” by placing “a plastic bag over the head,” the writer quotes others as advising;
At 2:52 p.m., the browser records activity on MySpace, a website Casey Anthony used frequently and George Anthony did not.

  9. cali patti says:

Vicky I agree with you about the Anthony jury, dumb as it gets, and had from early on decided what the outcome would be.
Another “thing” I noticed during trial was how Baez would “object” at inappropriate times, try to interrupt and then act like he was being shut up or picked on by the big bad prosecution/judge.
We knew what he was objecting to or trying to interject was frivolous but the jury didn’t.
The jury saw this poor man being told to be quiet. There is more to this idea but that is my thoughts simplified. I believe Baez’s actions, shaking of his head, acting like “he knew something” but wasn’t being allowed to speak, played an important part of the jury’s verdict.
The poor jury selection is mostly on Judge Perry. When Judge Perry limited the jury pool he set the non guilty verdict in motion.

  10. Chester says:

I think it’s more than a coinkadink that Zimmerman’s initials are GZ and Zenaida’s are ZG. Hmmmmmmm… I only think that because Señor Baez is conveniently involved in both cases. I hear he tried to represent George for free. We need more free lawyers but I wouldn’t want him.

  11. Chester~ ~now Señor Baez is representing Señor Serino. It is too bad George Anthony couldn’t meet up with Señor Baez in some dark alley and knock the crap out of him. I wonder if people are going to rush out and buy a copy of Baez’ book. Hmmmmmm… José is probably working for Serino pro bono.

  12. Here are a few highlights and why I believe it wasn’t just the Pinellas’ 12 who botched up casey being found guilt.

Also, in trial, the sheriff’s independent computer consultant inaccurately testified the browser made 84 visits in March 2008 to a page that showed a recipe for making chloroform. The defense proved the software was flawed and there was only one visit – a major blow to a state case that rested on circumstantial and scientific evidence.

For Humphrey and Goetz, who easily uncovered from afar what the Sheriff’s Office and prosecutors were unable to find for years, the failure to do whatever was necessary to get to those browser records still leaves them astounded

Had Casey Anthony testified, as Burdick said she expected she would, prosecutors wanted to use the browser information to impeach her. But Casey Anthony never took the stand and the state did not elicit from any other witness even the skeletal browser evidence it did have.

In 2008, in a deleted section of Firefox browser records, they found searches from March 2008 for “how to make chloroform,” “neck breaking,” “death” and other terms after they requested that Osborn search the hard drive for the word “chloroform.” That request came after the Sheriff’s Office found traces of chloroform in the trunk where, they claimed, Casey Anthony hid her daughter’s body.

She [Isabel Humphrey] obtained the data in August and turned it over to John Goetz, a retired engineer and computer expert in Connecticut. The pair had become acquainted online while following and discussing the case through the amateur sleuthing web community, Webslueths.

  13. Amber from Maryland says:

    Hi Snoopy

I do not have any faith that our courts produce justice or that verdicts will be based on facts or the law.

Nevertheless, I hope and pray that Zenaida will get the justice that Caylee was denied. I do not believe for one moment that George ever looked up “foolproof suffocation” on a computer.

Why didn’t Orange County hire a real expert to go over the computers?

  14. Amber ~~I have lost faith in the courts that is for sure. The prosecution was way too over confident when they found the search for chloroform. Baez knew dang well that Casey was guilty yet he set out to destroy George Anthony to win his case. He is the scum of the earth as far as I am concerned. I just pray that Casey never has another child. I wonder if prosecutors will learn anything from all the mistakes made in this case.

Jeff Ashton was busy drafting his book during the case and his constant smirking turned the jurors off.

Burdick should have known that the defense would not dare to put Casey on the stand. The death penalty was an overcharge. Judge Perry rushed in picking a jury and it was supposed to be a death penalty qualfied jury yet one African American who could not sit in judgement of anyone and was allowed on. I was not even shocked when the verdict was handed down.

  15. Happy Thanksgiving to My American Friends!

  16. Karen C. says:

Thank you, my Canadian Friend! But, please, no more footballs…I’m sick with it all already!

  17. cali patti says:

Thank you also, good food, great game, Detroit. v. Houston also sick of football. Never ending football.

  18. Amber from Maryland says:

Hi Snoopy, Karen and Cali Patti

    Happy Thanksgiving!

I think Casey is worse than Baez. She knew that she killed Caylee and that George had nothing to do with it. She had to approve whatever lies Baez told in her behalf. I thought that Jeff Ashton’s book left no doubt that she did kill the child. Now knowing about the “foolproof suffication” and that Baez probably found it on the computer because Casey told him about it, makes it even worse. Casey apparently never developed anything close to a conscience. Her behavior is beyond appalling!!!

We should all pray for Zenaida Gonzales and anyone else who is suing Felon Anthony.

  19. Karen~~I cannot stand football and could never figure out why they huddle together and then chase one another. lol I used to watch hockey with my brother ages ago and then really got into baseball. When the players went on strike for more money, I got turned off from the game.

  20. cali patti says:

I learned to “love” football when my sons played in H.S./college. Nothing finer than watching your son run a touchdown, the wrong way. OMG

  21. Amber~~I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving. We celebrate ours in October here in Canada.

I wonder what Casey is doing these days and if Cheney Mason is still babysitting her. Baez surely must feel ashamed on how he destroyed George to defend a murderer. I hope Caylee haunts Casey and José. I think we are all praying that Zenaida will win her defamation suit. I didn’t know the appellate courts were so slow. Goodness knows when the trial will ever get underway.

  22. Amber from Maryland says:

    Hi Snoopy

The bungle was astonishing!!! I can’t understand why Orange County didn’t check out the computer more thoroughly or turn it over to some greater experts for checking!!!

It is too late now. Casey can’t be retried in the criminal case. However, I don’t see how she can ever have any peace of mind. Wherever she goes, there will be someone who thinks her behavior was beyond the pale.

  23. Karen C. says:

    “An Oversight”?!
I really hope one of these numbskull jurors makes some sort of statement on this. Grrr…

Being from Buffalo, you know I’ve been an ice hockey fan from knee-high- the French Connection were My Guys, and I thrilled when Guy Lafleur started revving up behind the goalie, flying at center ice- I really loved it when Les Habs and my beloved Sabres played each other. I lost interest when I moved to Boston and all those players wanted to do was wrestle around like big, dumb bears to cater to the sadism of the Beantown fans, boring. An older gent with season tickets (fourth row- perfect!) treated me to a game at Fenway and I was hooked. So I have long been abused by the Sox, Lo, these many years now, so hopeful through the early Summer, and then comes July and they fold right up. That one great season set up Red Sox Nation for decades more of disappointment I fear- they still talk about it now like it was last year…

  24. Zimmerman case..

Defense seeks Trayvon Martin phone data

SANFORD, Fla., Nov. 25 (UPI) — Lawyers say they’re trying to obtain information from the phone carried by Florida teenager Treyvon Martin when he was shot by a neighborhood watch volunteer.

The Orlando Sentinel said defense attorneys will have to go to court to obtain the personal identification number for the cellphone from Martin’s parents in order to extract more details about who the victim was in touch with prior to his fatal encounter with George Zimmerman in a Sanford subdivision

  25. Frank Taaffe, friend of George Zimmerman, placed on probation following DUI arrest

SANFORD – Frank Taaffe, one of the first and most prominent supporters of murder suspect George Zimmerman, has resolved his DUI case by pleading no contest to a lesser charge and being placed on probation.

Taaffe was arrested July 27 after a bartender called police, saying that he’d just left the Lake Mary establishment where she worked, gotten behind the wheel of his car and appeared to be a danger.

He was pulled over a short time later. A pair of breath-alcohol tests put his alcohol level at 0.202 and 0.197, well above the state limit of 0.08.

He was charged with drunken driving but on Nov. 7 pleaded no contest to a lesser charge – reckless driving related to alcohol use.

He was placed on probation for six months and was ordered to do 50 hours of community service, get counseling and to attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings regularly

  26. Florida Man Kills Teenager At Gas Station Over Loud Music

Michael Dunn, 45, sits behind bars this morning accused of fatally shooting 17-year-old Jordan Davis in a gas station parking lot.

What lead to the fatal shooting? Apparently the two had gotten into an argument over loud music coming from the car Davis and his friends were riding in.

In an incident that appears to bare some similarities to the Trayvon Martin case, Dunn and Davis’s paths crossed on Friday night at a gas station in Jacksonville. Davis and a four other friends, all juveniles, had just come from the mall and were blasting loud music in their red SUV.

  27. Patti O says:

KC got off because the defense was a little more clever by casting suspicion on George and he being a wimpy witness opened the door for the possibility that he was guilty. Foghorn reiterated strongly at closing that if the jury had any iota of doubt they needed to vote NG. Well this jury took that a little too literally. But imo, unless the murder is witnessed or there is dna, all suspected murderers may be given the benefit of the doubt that soddi no matter how far-fetched the theory. So I can see why the jury voted like they did. It does amaze me that they found 12 people that all thought the same though. Also the prosecution did not prepare or analyze the case as well as they should have because it seemed open and shut. They also spent too much time on the chloroform analysis. If I were a juror I would have been sleeping by then.

  28. margaret says:

Hello All, I am tired of football, turkey and cooking in general.. LoL.Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving.. Snoops I hope your wrist is feeling better..I see where the most corrupt defense attorney is sticking his nose in GZ case. I hope someone knocks it off for him. How did corrupt get his hands on that information from computer? Why did the prosecution not get this same information? I have totally lost all respect for the law and justice. Karma sure has a lot of work to do in Orlando. What has happened to grandpa mason? He must have run for cover..I hope this is not a sign of the jodi trial. I am just disgusted right now.

  29. Hi Patti O. Every program on CNN Prime is talking about overlooking the search for “foolproof suffocation”. They have Bill Sheaffer and Brad Conway on there. When they asked Brad how Cindy and George felt about this news, he said he closed the door on that chapter of his life. I think he may have slammed that door. Sheaffer said that LE forensics didn’t do their job. He said even if Casey confessed to the murder, she can never be tried again for this crime.

I have always felt that the prosecution was way too over confident with all the chloroform evidence. The jurors were far from being a death penalty qualified jury. I don’t think they had the mental capacity to be on any jury, They were more interested in the fancy desserts that Judge Perry ordered up and wanted to go home. I noticed Baez is getting a lot of air time since this story broke. I believe Dr Drew has him on his show tonight.

  30. Margaret~~Casey is sitting back watching all this news and smirking. I see you had a busy Thanksgiving. I cannot stand football. I am still trying to baby the wrist, in fact the whole hand. Baez is on Dr Drew via phone. I am going to watch it and add more here later.

[edit] Dang, I got a phone call and missed what Baez had to say. Anyone else listen to him?? I heard him at the very end still trying to implicate George because of the suicide search.

  31. Amber from Maryland says:

    Hi Snoopy

I didn’t watch Dr. Drew but I saw Nancy Grace. She is not very happy about the missed computer evidence. I liked seeing Bill Sheaffer again. He seems to be very reasonable and knowledgeable. i will never understand why George was so willing to let Baez paint him as a monster or why Cindy would let it happen and take the fall for the chloroform searches herself. I do not think for one minute that George would have ever done Caylee any harm and he would certainly have no need to look up fool-proof suffocation on the day Caylee died or any other day. If George saw Caylee’s body in the pool he would have called 911 immediately in case there was even the slightest change the child could be revived. Everyone may think of Baez as deplorable, but Felon Anthony is behind whatever he did and she certainly is not going to be nominated as mother of the year or daughter of the year.

I still pray for Zenaida’s success in the law suit.

  32. Hi Amber~~I don’t even fault George for having an affair with River Cruz. I do fault him for letting Cindy lead him around on a leash. Cindy wouldn’t let George lay down the law to Casey for stealing. Cindy was the main bread winner in the family so got to wear the pants. I also think George willingly took the fall for Casey and the whole family was in on the plot. They were all good at play acting even to Lee and his crocodile tears on the stand.

  33. Amber from Maryland says:

    I agree with you 100%.

  34. With his legal defense fund teetering at less than $15,000, accused murderer George Zimmerman announced a new strategy to drum up donations: signed thank-you cards.

The plan to send autographed cards in exchange for donations was revealed Wednesday on Zimmerman’s legal defense fund’s website, managed by his defense attorney, Mark O’Mara.

The announcement said Zimmerman’s fund — which has raised about $140,000 in seven months — will now have a new manager of the defendant’s choosing. And it makes clear that the legal defense fund doesn’t actually pay lawyer fees. O’Mara and attorney Don West have yet to bill a dime, the firm said.

  36. SANFORD – The judge in the George Zimmerman second-degree murder case on Wednesday signed an order authorizing subpoenas for Trayvon Martin’s school records, something his family and prosecutors had fought to stop.

The move was not a surprise but the timing was. Circuit Judge Debra S. Nelson had ruled more than a month ago that Zimmerman was entitled to the records.

However, court records made public today show that defense attorney Mark O’Mara did not present the necessary paperwork to the judge until Wednesday, when she signed it.

Interesting Development In Trayvon Martin Case

  40. margaret says:

The caylee daily is saying , rumor has it that caca is in Brevard County, Fl. Who gives a flip. I just want the State of Florida and Internal revenue to get after her.I want Tim Miller,The Grunds and Zenaida to get every penny she ever hopes to earn. Snoops if Jodi sings during her trial, i will really flip out. Do they let you have a computer in the nut house?

  41. Margaret~~I am with you as I don’t give a tinker’s damn where she is. I have a feeling that Cindy is keeping Casey’s piggy bank full. I wouldn’t be surprised if Jodi doesn’t jump up, smile at the judge and do a few choruses of ‘My Lay was in Danger’ to the tune of ‘Away in the Manger’.

  42. Amber from Maryland says:

    Hi Snoopy and Margaret

We will all pray for the Grunds, Tim Miller and Zenaida.

Jodi doesn’t have any more of a conscience than Casey. They certainly didn’t learn a good sense of values when they were young. I think Cindy should be ashamed of the way Casey turned out but I agree with you Snoopy that she is probably keeping the felon’s piggy bank full.

  43. Amber~~I still keep the faith that somewhere at some time down the road, Caylee Anthony will have her justice. Even if this justice comes in small ways, like Zenaida winning her court case. The lightning struck that tree out at Suburban where Caylee’s memorial was for a reason. I wonder if Tim Miller is still planning to sue Casey. I never hear a thing about him anymore.

  44. Amber from Maryland says:

    Hi Snoopy

The only one I have heard about recently engaged in suing Casey is Zenaida but I will pray for any of the others who do.

Caylee has her justice. Thousands of people all over the place think that Caylee was an angel and that her mother is/was just plain evil. That won’t change.

Thanks, Amber. Maybe Tim Miller felt it wasn’t worth hiring a lawyer for.

  45. George Zimmerman with a bloody, swollen nose taken on the night he shot and killed unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin last February. Photograph: Handout/Reuters
A photograph of George Zimmerman with a bloody, swollen nose taken on the night he shot and killed unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin last February was posted on the internet Monday by Zimmerman’s legal team.

As the photo began to be circulated widely by the news media, lawyers on both sides disagreed about its significance to the second-degree murder case against Zimmerman.

“It’s not a game changer,” Zimmerman lawyer Mark O’Mara told Reuters. But O’Mara said the photo was significant in that it shows vividly the injuries Zimmerman incurred during his confrontation with Martin at a condominium in the central Florida town on Sanford.

On 26 February, Zimmerman, who was a neighbourhood watch volunteer, shot and killed 17-year-old Martin who was walking to the home in Sanford where he was staying with his father.

Zimmerman’s murder trial is set for June 2013.

Zimmerman claims he shot Martin in self-defence during a struggle.

“Does it really show what happened that night to George? Yes,” O’Mara said.

Attorney Ben Crump, who represents Martin’s family, however said the photo adds nothing new to the case. Previously released evidence has indicated Zimmerman was hit in the nose during the fight with Martin.

“Trayvon Martin was defending himself. He had every right to stand his ground to defend himself,” Crump said.

O’Mara told Reuters that prosecutors in May had given him a grainy black-and-white photocopy of the image which was taken in the back seat of a Sanford police cruiser. O’Mara said he received the digital image from prosecutors after repeated demands by his office and he posted it Monday on Zimmerman’s defense website.

  46. Newbie says:

Looks pretty life threatening to me…..sheeeee it.

  47. Newbie~~I wonder if that picture has been photoshopped. Notice the very end of his nose….oh gross. The nose seems quite swollen and definitely looks fractured. Zimmerman should have had some nasty black eyes within 24-36 hrs.
