I was in the process of doing a write about this case when the news broke that Porter was arrested.

Would you like to see a mess of notes that I was gathering to do my article?… please do not laugh.. I am a very disorganized person…LOL Maybe you can make some sense out of the following…

I have been following a case about a young fire fighter, Jerry Perdomo 31 who left his wife, Tonya and their two children in Seminole Co, Florida, to go to Bangor, Maine to help a friend. Perdomo, an Orange City man, has not been seen since Feb. 16 when he drove a rental car from Florida to Bangor. The car was found abandoned in a Walmart parking lot.

When Jerry arrived in Bangor, he visited a woman by the name of Lisa. The 31-year-old woman said that she had a relationship with Perdomo, 31, and that for the last 10 months he had been visiting her once a month. She said Perdomo told her on the night of Feb. 16 that he was going out to meet a friend and that he would take her to dinner when he returned. But he never came back. WESH interviews Lisa

Perdomo, a father of two, has been a firefighter for the Seminole County Fire department since 2009 and was in the Marines.

Fellow firefighters are solemn and worried about Perdomo. Two of them flew to Maine to help with the search. Coworkers feel they can raise awareness about their missing friend.
“We’re missing a family member,” said Seminole County Lt. Dave Williams. “I was his training lieutenant. It’s unlike him.”

“I don’t know because we had plans to go out to eat,” said Lisa. “An hour after he left, one phone got shut off and about an hour and a half later, the other phone got shut off and they’ve been shut off ever since.”
Perdomo, an Orange City man, has not been seen since Feb. 16 when he drove a rental car from Florida to Bangor. The car was found abandoned in a Walmart parking lot.
Detectives said there were no signs of foul play. Investigators said the surveillance video from the Walmart shows someone exiting the rental car at 8:15 a.m. Friday and walking away from the store. Police said they aren’t sure of the identity of that person.
Lisa said Daniel Porter and Cheyanne Nowak, a couple that police were looking for and have questioned were friends of Perdomo’s and that Perdomo occasionally met up with them.
The Portland Press Herald is reporting that Porter and Nowak bought a new car sight-unseen from a Bangor car dealer this week and then drove to another town to pick it up. The duo asked for directions to the nearest Walmart saying they wanted to leave their old car there because they had to drive to Florida for an emergency.

Jerry Perdomo told his wife that he was going to Maine to help a friend.
“It wouldn’t be unusual for him to help someone because that’s what he always did,” said Tonya Perdomo.
Tonya Perdomo said she spoke with her husband on the evening he disappeared, but there was nothing out of the ordinary about their conversation.
“I’m devastated. I hope that he’s coming home,” said Tonya Perdomo. “I want you to know that he’s a family man.”
Perdomo’s wife, however, would not comment on her husband’s alleged relationship with a woman in Maine.
“I knew that he had a friend. But he has female friends. I can’t comment on the extent of their relationship because I don’t know,” said Tonya Perdomo.

I was also going to include the following where the Maine police put the run to WFTV…

  3. snoopysleuth says:

I feel like I have just exposed my blogging soul to the world. LOL I started to write about Perdomo after I watched his wife, Tonya being interviewed. She didn’t seem very upset about her husband being missing. She was also being very evasive in some of her anwers to the reporters. That is when a light bulb went off in this old noggin and I visioned the words “drug deal gone bad.”

I wonder if they have or will find Palmaro’s body. The firefighters at Seminole Co. must feel duped if the following is true… Police also confirmed they are looking into claims that Perdomo was running drugs from Florida to Maine.

  4. snoopysleuth says:

Here is another interview with Tonya Perdomo. This video is more upclose and she does show a hint of emotion. The question is, did Tonya know the real reason that Jerry made those trips to Bangor??

  5. nika says:

This makes me wonder how much Tonya really knew. If he was running drugs from Florida, did she know? Was she involved? Oh what a tangled web some can get themselves into. I think they must have found something to indicate he was murdered.

  6. snoopysleuth says:

Nika~~I just read that Tonya is a teacher. She didn’t seem very upset that her husband was having an affair with this Lisa in Maine. To tell you the truth, I think having a girlfriend may have just been created as a coverup and an excuse for Perdomo to visit Maine if he was dealing in drugs. Lisa would not give her last name or show her face. Some of those druggies will lie to get some freebies for their addiciton.

The Maine state police had to find sufficient evidence in Porter’s father’s house to make an arrest and charge him with homicide. Dive teams and searchers are looking for Perdomo’s remains so they must have found evidence that he was murdered.

  7. snoopysleuth says:

Maine police are saying that Perdomo’s death was a drug related homicide. Daniel Porter may appear in court as early as tomorrow. At that time an affidavit will be filed revealing how Porter knew Perdomo.

  8. snoopysleuth says:

Here is a small excerpt from the Orlando Sentinel….

Tonya Perdomo, an English teacher at Deltona High School, said the last time she spoke to her husband was the evening of Feb. 16, when he called “to tell me that he was fine.”

“We spoke for a minute because the reception was really bad,” Tonya Perdomo said. “He told me that he loved me and to hug and kiss the kids and he told me he would call me later. And I never heard from him again.”

  9. Karen C. says:

Snoopy- I knew the second I saw on CNN he ran back and forth from FL to Maine every month this was drugs- Super Duh. Plenty of good-looking tail, as it were, in Florida (not to dump on Maine, but….). Then watching his wife fluffing her hair, ready for her closeup, it was excruciatingly obvious. As I’m sure it was to LE as well…

I mean, NO ONE SANE leaves Florida in the winter months for Maine, unless beaucoup bucks be involved.

  10. snoopysleuth says:

FYI~ ~A body has been located in the snow handy to where Perdomo’s rental car was abandoned… idenity of the body has not been confirmed…stay tuned…

  11. cali patti says:

probably drugs were involved, however I would not put much into him using a rental car. I did at first until remembered we used a rental when going on certain vacations. It is 5 1/2 hours to Reno/Lake Tahoe from where I live and we were going up there about once every 6 weeks. We had two nice vehicles but we became alarmed at the miles they were getting on them. So we rented a smaller car for our drives up there with better gas milage. We did that for years, saved thousands of miles on our cars.

  12. snoopysleuth says:

The interviewer feels that Tonya Perdoma was not being straight forward.

Here is a six page affadavit that spells out how things went down and led to the arrest of Daniel Porter. I just hope that Porter didn’t put Perdomo’s body through a wood chipper after he shot him.

Murder suspect owed slain firefighter $3,000 in drug money

  13. margaret says:

Why are people so arrogant to think “I can get away with this ” when they choose to join the drug scene…Now there are two more little children asking .wheres Daddy?/So senseless and useless..

  14. snoopysleuth says:

Margaret~~I just read that Daniel Porter told his father where Perdomo’s body was and also the gun. I think many firefighters in Seminole Co feel quite disappointed that one of their own was breaking the law. The excuse that Jerry P needed extra money is bull… there are honest ways to earn money.

  15. Karen C. says:

It’s not just money, Snoop. He (in his mind) likely thought he was a cool hombre outlaw with his lovely wife, his hero career, girls whenever/wherever, his good looks and everyone looking up to him. Heck, he was needed up there in Maine- nothing to do up there in the winter (for some people) except to get high and drunk- probably he thought this was an extension of his public service, but with lots of money too. He was so cool! Likely it was all pills so “OK”- just harmless prescription meds so easy to get in Florida, and so costly in Maine.
I’m sure he was well able to find whatever justification he needed, that’s what they do.

  16. snoopysleuth says:

Karen C~ ~ well Perdomo has no bragging rights now. Maybe some druggies will think he went down as their hero.

  17. snoopysleuth says:

I do commend the Maine State Police for their investigation. Daniel looked quite tipsy in his mug shot. The following is interesting and you get to see the dog who found the body. The dog is trained to detect a human scent.

  18. snoopysleuth says:

Just as I predicted….self defense plea …The girlfriend in Maine, Lisa, said that Perdomo left her residence with a gun to go and meet Porter and try to collect money. Perdomo was shot in the head while he and Porter supposedly were shooting pool. Hmmm was Perdomo armed at the time with a loaded gun??

  19. snoopysleuth says:

“Mr. Perdomo made threats both verbal and with the firearm to Mr. Porter which caused him fear that Mr. Perdomo was going to carry out those threats against him or others,” Porter’s attorney, Jeff Silverstein, told ABCNews.com. “Mr. Porter felt compelled to act in the way that he did as a result of that conduct.”

  20. Karen C. says:

    That would explain his nonchalance.

  21. snoopysleuth says:

Karen C~~when Parker was cuffed and taken in, he was boozed up. That is why he looks like he is almost grinning in his mug shot. The reporter said that when Daniel rolled the window down, he reeked of alcohol. I am not sure how this one will play out… I don’t expect it to be a DP case and I am not sure if Maine has the death penalty. I am thinking second degree or manslaughter..

  22. snoopysleuth says:

BELFAST, Maine — As accused murderer Daniel Porter was hustled through the Waldo County Superior Courthouse on Friday morning, a large crowd of his family and friends shouted out their support.

“We love you, Daniel,” many among the 50 or so people called to him in unison.

Porter, 24, of Jackson has been charged with murder in the death of Florida firefighter Jerry Perdomo.

After Porter’s court appearance Friday, the state medical examiner’s office released information that Perdomo was killed by a gunshot wound to the head. It was a homicide, according to an official who said the autopsy was concluded that afternoon.

During his first court appearance, Porter listened as Justice Robert Murray read the charge against him and explained that the maximum sentence he faces for murder is life in prison. If Porter is convicted, he will face a mandatory minimum of 25 years in prison.

Murray asked if Porter understood the charge against him.

“Trust me, I understand, your honor,” Porter said in a clear, confident voice.

Porter wore a bulletproof vest over his orange jumpsuit, and at the end of the brief hearing he turned back to look at all the people jamming into the gallery.

“Love you guys,” he said to them. “I don’t want to see a bunch of sad faces.”

Now some of the gory details are coming out about Perdomo’s secret life. Now who was supplying Perdomo with all the precription pill he was delivering to Maine?

Details Emerge In Court About Perdomo’s Life In Maine

Strout said in court that Perdomo offered to knock $500 off the debt if Porter would let him rape his girlfriend, Cheyanne Nowak, on the pool table.
Lisa Gould, Perdomo’s Maine girlfriend, whom he would visit once a month, told Strout that Perdomo was selling prescription drugs in Maine and would bring up to 1,500 pills with him each visit.
